Our Winter Clothing FAQ’s

Q : How far in advance do I need to book?

A : The earlier, the better is our general rule of thumb. There are certain times of year that we get very busy with bookings, which can result in us not being able to confirm your reservation.

Q : Do you accept last-minute bookings?

A : Yes, subject to availability. Our busiest times are late December to early January, end of February, and Mid-March, so it is less likely we can accept last minute bookings for those times. Please call for availability for bookings made less than 3 business days before pick-up.

Q : Can we pick up our reserved packages directly from the store?

A : Yes. Just email or call us to schedule an appointment to do so when you make your reservation.

Q : Do you have kids sizes available?

A : Yes, we have a limited selection of kids winter rentals available. Please email us for availability (info@auroraoutfitters.ca)

Q : How will I know if my winter clothing reservation is confirmed?

A : Once you have submitted your booking request on our website, you can expect an email confirmation from us within 2 business days.

Q : What forms of payment do you accept?

A : We accept e-transfers and all major credit cards. Once we have confirmed your booking we will contact you for payment details.

Q : How will I know which size I need for the clothes?

A : In providing us your weight and height, and US size we will be able to know the right size for you. Of course, it’s not 100% guaranteed, so shortly after your arrival, if exchanges are necessary, please call us at 867-667-2817 or email us at info@auroraoutfitters.ca, and we will be pleased to make the exchange for you.

Q : I’m staying outside of the downtown area, will you still deliver?

A : Depending on how far out of town you are staying we may be able to deliver for a fee. Alternately you can pick up your rental package at our store located in the downtown area or arrange for your host to pick up and drop off your bags.

Q : Which package will you recommend for a trip to Whitehorse?

A : We highly suggest you choose the Arctic package, which is rated to -40 degrees, especially if you are not accustomed to the cold. The temperature in Whitehorse can drop drastically and very quickly! No one likes to be cold after 5 minutes in the outside in the Yukon! Don’t forget, at -40 degrees, wearing good clothes is not just a question of comfort, it’s more about your safety.
